Graham Onions fulfils promise to bowl in pants after incorrect Panama prediction
Onions thought Panama would have a man sent off in the second half against England.
Former England paceman Graham Onions is a man of his word.
The 35-year-old has paid the price for a reckless prediction on Twitter on Sunday after watching the first half of England’s World Cup thrashing of Panama.
England are brilliant...Panama arnt. If Panama don’t have a man sent off in this game il bowl in my underpants tomorrow— Graham Onions (@BunnyOnions) June 24, 2018
With the Three Lions 5-0 ahead, the ex-Durham player shared his thoughts on the match, tweeting: “England are brilliant…Panama arnt. If Panama don’t have a man sent off in this game il bowl in my underpants tomorrow.”
And having seen Panama keep all 11 men on the field during their 6-1 defeat to Gareth Southgate’s side, Onions was forced to deal with the consequences on Tuesday.
Ahead of day two of Lancashire’s Specsavers County Championship Division One match with Hampshire at Old Trafford, the Red Rose tweeted pictures of Onions warming up in his underpants.
The forfeit seemed to fire Onions up as he trapped Ollie Rayner lbw in the fourth over of the day.
