Diego Maradona's wild celebration sums up how much tonight's dramatic late win meant to Argentina
Argentina snatched a place in the World Cup last 16 after a dramatic late goal from Marcos Rojo secured a 2-1 win over Nigeria.
The defender finished confidently to the net with four minutes remaining to rescure his team, who have been under huge pressure back in Argentina following two poor performances against Iceland and Croatia to open the group stage.
A spectacular Lionel Messi goal looked to have put Argentina on the way to the last 16 until Javier Mascherano conceded a penalty for holding, which was converted by Victor Moses.
It looked like Jorge Sampaoli's side were heading out of the tournament until Rojo steppped up, with his vital goal sparking an outpouring of emotion on the pitch and in the stand.
As always, Argentine legend Diego Maradona wore his heart on his sleeve, celebrating wildly in the stand as his country kept their World Cup hopes alive.
