Waterford hoping for Henderson resolution

Waterford United are confident they can reach a financial resolution with Stephen Henderson, who is believed to be owed a five-figure sum by the club.

The former Waterford boss, who has a significant family history in the League of Ireland, was behind a petition to wind up the club, but negotiations have opened between both parties.

A club statement last night said: "Waterford United is confident that a successful resolution will be found that will be acceptable and that a proud 83-year tradition of soccer in Waterford as well as over 20 jobs, will be protected and maintained into the future."
