Video footage has emerged on Twitter of Liverpool fans letting off fireworks outside the Barcelona team hotel in the early hours to try and disrupt their players' sleep.

The Reds face into tonight's second leg with a 3-0 deficit after a Messi masterclass in the Nou Camp last week.

Talisman Mo Salah is missing after suffering a concussion in Saturday's Premier League win over Newcastle with fellow attacker Roberto Firmino also absent, making the task even more difficult.

And with the odds against the men from Merseyside, some supporters took it upon themselves to try and gain any advantage they can. Pictures online show a car boot full of fireworks and one video ends with a fan saying  'Wake up call for Mr Messi' after the last firework goes off.

After Vincent Kompany's rocket against Leicester last night put Liverpool on the back foot to Man City in the Premier League title race, fans will be hoping that any fireworks seen later tonight are of the on-field variety.
