Ireland striker Seán Maguire scored a hat-trick on his pre-season return for Preston in their 4-0 friendly win over AFC Fylde yesterday.

The former Cork City striker looked sharp in front of goal for Alex Neil's side against the National League outfit.

Afterwards, Neil revealed his delighted with Maguire's contribution after his late return to pre-season training due to international duty.

"He's come back a little bit later because of international duty and we got a straight 60 minutes out of him straight away," said Neil.

"You can see he's strong, he's quick. I thought he did both sides of the game very well, he dropped in and linked it, and then spun and got in behind and he was a real threat."
