Robbie Savage struggled to contain his outrage as he fronted a BBC radio phone-on that included one caller suggest Jose Mourinho should be sacked as Manchester United manager….and replaced by Tony Pulis!

While West Bromwich Albion manager Pulis has won over a few doubters with some improved performance from his team this season, former Wales international Savage nearly fell off his seat as a clearly misguided called suggested the Baggies boss would be a better bet at Old Trafford than serial trophy winner Mourinho.

Savage’s mood was not improved when a contributor then suggested Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney would ‘be remembered as a liability’, even after he broke the club’s all-time goal scoring record with a stunning strike against Stoke on Saturday.
