Republic of Ireland under-21 international Jack Byrne has scored his second goal in as many games for Cambuur in the Dutch Eredivisie, and it was a belter.

The midfielder, who is at the club on loan from Manchester City, scored the opening goal in a 3-1 defeat to Heracles today. It was a little bit special.

Speaking on Friday, Ireland boss Martin O'Neill revealed that he has been looking at DVDs of the 19-year-old in action.

“He is doing very well. I’ve not seen him personally but I’ve got the DVDs of his performances and he is definitely one that you would feel in the future should come through.

“He’s got a lot of natural talent, which he has shown, and he has made the effort to go out and try and further his career by making himself a more experienced player. Well done to him for that.”
