Video: A bolt for the blues - Rangers players get a shock when storm hits training
Talk about a bolt from the blue. Rangers players and coaching staff got a shock at their training session this week when lightening struck.
The players were deep in training at their Murray Park ground when a storm passed over the pitch. While nobody was injured in the brief passing storm, the players got something of a shock when the lightening stuck.
Steven Smith, who provided one of the best shocked reactions, asked on Twitter: "Is it safe to come out yet?"
"Happy to be alive!" tweeted Andy Little. "Lightning strike at training, never been so scared in my life! Gaffer swears it [hit] his right foot!"
"Escaped death today!" quipped new signing Nicky Law.
However first team coach Ian Durrant will undoubtedly come in for flak from his charges as he was spotted appearing to run for cover as soon as the lightening struck.
