Trap will play 'twin terrors'

Giovanni Trapattoni is prepared to unleash his twin terrors on Russia when the Euro 2012 Group B favourites arrive in Dublin to tackle the Irish table-toppers next Friday, WRITES DAVID KELLY.

Trapattoni yesterday heaped further praise on Aiden McGeady following the winger's recent move to Spartak Moscow and strongly hinted that he will accommodate both McGeady and the returning Damien Duff on opposite flanks for the first of two crunch clashes.

Ireland travel to Slovakia four days later and Trapattoni also offered an upbeat assessment of Richard Dunne's knee injury as the defender returns to action against Tottenham today, watched by Ireland assistant Marco Tardelli.

"Richard Dunne told me that he feels very good and he is confident that he will play on Saturday. If Richard plays tomorrow, he will be ready. I'm confident that will be the case," Trapattoni said.

Asked whether there was a choice to be made between McGeady and Duff, Trapattoni responded with a question of his own. "Why? In the past, we play one left and one right."

Trapattoni reiterated that there was no residual animosity between the manager and Darron Gibson after their recent contretemps. And he also admitted that his recently inactive club players -- especially Robbie Keane and Kevin Kilbane -- may struggle to last 90 minutes.

Stephen Kelly (calf) and Darren O'Dea (knee) have both been ruled out of the squad allowing Everton's Seamus Coleman his first senior call-up.
