Twist in Paul Pogba Manchester United transfer saga as Zinedine Zidane hints Real are still interested in Frenchman
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has hinted that the Spanish giants are still trying to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus,.
Reports in the Italian media today suggest that the Frenchman will move to Old Trafford "in a matter of hours". But there are conflicting reports in Spain suggesting that Pogba's world record move to United has been cancelled by the player's agent Mino Raiola.
After personal terms were agreed between United and Pogba, the Frenchman's medical was due to take place in Miami this week.
However, it has been reported that Raiola will not sanction the medical unless the issue regarding his 'agent's fee' is resolved.
And Real boss Zidane offered the clearest indication yet that the Pogba tug-of-war is very much still ongoing.
“In this moment we are still working, and I cannot say anything more,” said Zidane.
“Until August 31 anything can happen, but today he is not a Real Madrid player and I cannot talk about what will happen.
“I always say how things are, but now is not the time to talk about this. A lot of clubs are interested in Pogba.
“Real Madrid always want the best players. But we owe Juventus respect, and I can’t say anything more out of respect.”
