Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a move for veteran Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick according to The Daily Mirror.

The paper says that Wenger is a long-term admirer of the 34-year-old and has tried to sign the former Spurs man on three previous occasions.

Carrick is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with an overseas club if he decides to leave Old Trafford.

One player linked with a move to United is now also being courted by rivals Liverpool.

Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches has been earning rave reviews this season and the 18-year-old is being linked with a host of suitors.

Jurgen Klopp is the latest to have reportedly declared an interest in the player who has a buy-out clause of €80m.

Tottenham and West Ham will go head to head for the signature of Marseille's Michy Batshuayi.

The 22-year-old Belgian striker would cost around £25m according to The Daily Mirror.
