Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s assessment of his future this weekend will certainly have caught the attention of Manchester United as the Borussia Dortmund forward refused to commit to his club.

Aubameyang is in scintillating form for Dortmund, with his brace in a 4-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday taking his tally for the season to 18 goals in 18 appearances.

Predictably, that form has led to rumours resurfacing of a move to Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho’s side struggling for goals in the Premier League despite the additions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba.

Aubameyang is under contract with Dortmund until 2020, but when asked about his future this weekend his reply was anything but reassuring for the Bundesliga club.

“I don’t know if I will stay,” Aubameyang said. “I just think about playing good football right now. I want to give my best and win titles. I just think about the sport and nothing else.”

One player almost certainly on his way out of the Bundesliga is Julian Draxler – and could he be heading to Arsenal? Draxler confirmed his intention to leave Wolfsburg on Saturday after being jeered by supporters.

Draxler revealed last summer he wanted to leave Wolfsburg but the club refused to let him leave. He lost his place in the starting line-up and, when he was brought on against Hertha Berlin at the weekend, the boos from the home fans were resounding.

Draxler said: “I don’t think I need to tell anybody what [being booed] does to a person - it certainly doesn’t help you.

“I can understand the fans, though. They have every right to do that. I said in the summer the way I feel and I stand by that. There’s no doubt it makes it hard for you to perform on the field.”

Arsenal have been widely reported as being interested in Draxler, with Arsene Wenger understood to be keen on another striking option when the transfer window opens in January.

A slightly less likely rumour doing the rounds on Monday morning is that of Cesc Fabregas returning to Arsenal. The Daily Express report Wenger wants to re-sign Fabregas to boost the Arsenal’s title challenge.

Fabregas left Arsenal to join Barcelona in 2011, and moved to Chelsea in 2014.

Meanwhile, The Sun are confident Wenger is ready to make a £20m move for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca.

The paper reports the Gunners have opened negotiations to sign the Colombia international in January, as Wenger copes without the injured trio of Olivier Giroud, Lucas Perez and Danny Welbeck.

Wenger attempted to sign Bacca in 2015 before he moved to AC Milan. The forward is reported to have fallen out with AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella.

One player who appears to be going nowhere this January – or anytime soon, for that matter – is Tottenham’s Harry Kane. The forward scored twice against Swansea on Saturday – his seventh and eighth goals of the season – and having recently signed a new six-year deal says he wants to stay at the club for life.

Kane said: “From my point of view, as long as the club’s always progressing and has got a vision and going forward, then I’d love to do that. “At the moment, that’s the case, so there is no reason for me to move anywhere else.”
