Manchester United continue to be linked to Barcelona forward Neymar and one paper has revealed the staggering deal sums involved in enticing the Brazilian to Old Trafford.

It emerged over the weekend that United had been linked with the Brazil international and it has since been reported by the Guardian that the 23-year-old is "open" to a move to the Premier League side.

According to the Guardian report, the Brazil international would be interested in joining United where he would expect to become first-choice striker, rather than playing second, or maybe even third, fiddle to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Barcelona.

Following their opening game of the season against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday Luis Enrique, the Barca manager, refused to comment on the rumours surrounding the player.

“Talking about Neymar and other clubs doesn't interest me,” Enrique said. “I don't talk about rumours. I focus on what happens in my team.”

GloboEsporte has claimed that United have made a bid of £140m and that that amount will be enough to trigger Neymar's release clause. The remaining £100m according to today's Sun is made up of wages, bonuses and tax.
