Manchester United offer Juventus £39m for Arturo Vidal
Manchester United have returned to Juventus with a bid of £39m for Arturo Vidal, according to reports.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim that the Chile international is the subject of a take-it or leave-it bid from the Old Trafford outfit.
Serie A champions Juventus have so far made clear they are reluctant to sell but Manchester United hope the latest bid will be enough for them to relinquish.
Vidal has impressed since joining the Turin club in 2011 - winning the title every year since he arrived. The midfielder also proved his ability at the World Cup with his performances for Chile who were eventually knocked out by Brazil on penalties.
The 27-year-old is thought to be among Louis van Gaal's top targets as he looks to put together a team capable of challenging for trophies once more. A move for Angel di Maria remains a possibility whilst Ander Herrera has already joined the club to bolster the midfield.
Manchester United are currently on a pre-season tour of the United States but chief executive Ed Woodward returned earlier this week for "business reasons".
In an interview with The Independent, Woodward explained that there are no fixed budgets this summer and the club are not afraid to spend whatever it takes to bring in the right players.
