Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal to make new bid for Lazio's Felipe Anderson
Louis van Gaal, the Manchester United manager, is preparing to make a new bid for Felipe Anderson, the Lazio midfielder, according to reports in both Calciomercato, the Italian website, and Gazzetta dello Sport.
Despite having a £28 million bid rejected by the Serie A club last summer, the Dutchman is now poised to return to the Rome club with a revised offer.
After scoring five times in 13 outings for Lazio this season, the Brazilian has alos attracted attention from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 22 year-old, whose contract runs to 2020 and has £56m release clause in his contract, was reportedly upset after the summer move fell through and is keen on making the switch in January.
Víctor Valdés, the United goalkeeper, appears determined to stay in the Premier League once he has successfully manoeuvred his way out of his current contract at Old Trafford.
Gines Carvajal, the Spaniard's agent, has said he is "relying on Manchester United letting Víctor go" but his player is keen on staying in England.
"The Premier League is very attractive and Valdés want to stay because he has adapted perfectly to England, but we are not closing the door to any options.
"There are still two months until the transfer window opens and there is nothing concrete, but the intention is to leave Manchester United."
