Liverpool have €14m bid for Man United target Nathaniel Clyne rejected
Manchester United and Liverpool are locked in a battle to sign full-back Nathaniel Clyne, with Southampton rejecting a £10m (€13.9m) offer from the Reds.
The England has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer, but the Merseysiders appear to be stepping up their interest in the attacking full-back.
The BBC reports that a £10m bid was rejected by Ronald Koeman's side.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is known to be a big admirer of Clyne and views the 24-year-old defender as the ideal replacement for Glen Johnson, who will leave Anfield as a free agent this summer.
Southampton are reported to be holding out for a fee of £20m (€28m) for the player who joined the club from Crystal Palace in July 2012.
Clyne is under contract until the summer of 2016.
