Jamie Carragher has offered up his first devious tweet ahead of the new Premier League season - and he picked one of the photos of the summer as part of his message.

One-time Everton fan Carragher will forever be associated with Liverpool after his extended career with the Anfield giants, and he certainly picked his moment to poke fun at the Goodison Park club after he used an image of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp from his holiday in Spain sporting some unusual headgear to make his point.

The Sky Sports pundit likes to use his Twitter account to make some feisty comments and in a summer that has seen Everton sign a host of new players, he offered a cutting response to the rising optimism around the Toffees.

England under-21 keeper Jordan Pickford and Ajax captain Davy Klaassen are among the new arrivals at Everton, with Spanish striker Sandro also among the confirmed signings while Burnley’s Michael Keane is expected to follow imminently.

Yet Carragher seems less than impressed by the array of new talent arriving at Everton as he confirmed with this tweet.
