NOEL Hunt will sign for Ipswich on a permanent basis after severing his ties with Leeds United yesterday.

The Waterford man had an unhappy time at Elland Road and impressed in a loan spell with Mick McCarthy's side which he kicked off in November, scoring a key goal at Charlton.

Hunt is now set to link up with his brother Stephen, the Championship's top scorer Daryl Murphy and the rest of the Irish contingent at Portman Road.

Former Dundalk striker Pat Hoban has returned to training at Oxford and is on schedule to make his debut earlier than was anticipated when he damaged his ankle shortly after his move to the club.

After receiving international clearance for his switch, Hoban will play a development match next week.

The Galway contingent in England will formally increase today when Ryan Manning completes his move to QPR.

Everton have loaned ex-Dundalk defender Ben McLaughlin to Telford.
