Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Real Madrid's James Rodriguez in stunning swap deal
Chelsea fans are in desperate need of a pick me up as their stuttering season continues to go from bad to worse and we have a transfer rumour that should help lift those spirits.
Eden Hazard hasn't quite cut the mustard this campaign but it looks as if he will be used in a sensational swap deal which will see Real Madrid star James Rodriguez head the other way.
Yes, the Daily Star reports that this deal is actually in the making.
Hazard was voted PFA Player of the Season last year for his stunning form which helped Chelsea run away with the Premier League title.
This campaign he is yet to score a goal and has been missing in action, even picking up injury in the defeat to Leicester on Monday night in what looked an innocuous fashion.
But now it is claimed that Chelsea are prepared to let Hazard leave and will offer his services to Real - as long as they can have Rodriguez in return.
The Spanish giants are reluctant to lose their World Cup star, but have long been keen on getting their hands on Belgian international Hazard.
Meanwhile, it doesn't rain but it pours for Chelsea fans at the moment with one of their top transfer targets ready to snub the Blues to move to Inter.
Jonathan Calleri was thought to be on the verge of completing a move to the champions, but the current difficulties and uncertainty over Jose Mourinho's future have made Boca Juniors striker rethink his plans.
Now Inter Milan appear set to snap up the forward who has emerged as a top target during the transfer window thanks to his impressive return of 21 goals for the Argentinian club.
Il Sussidiario quote Calleri's agent as saying that Inter are closing in on the 22-year-old's services.
“There’s good news about Calleri,” Angelo Paradiso, Calleri’s agent, said.
“The purchase is almost done, we’re just lacking the final details. We’re talking about a figure close to €14 million (£10.1m).”
One player who looks to be escaping his Chelsea misery is John Obi Mikel.
The Nigerian international has made just nine appearances this season and, according to Turkish outlet Takvim, Galatasaray could be about to offer the 28-year-old a fresh challenge.
The Istanbul club are reportedly ready to offer £6m to land Mikel whose contract expires in the summer of 2017.
