Arsenal and Chelsea on alert after Sami Khedira reveals he will leave Real Madrid in summer
Arsenal and Chelsea are on alert after Sami Khedira confirmed he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Khedira will be available on a free transfer with a host of leading European clubs expected to be interested in him.
The Germany World Cup winner has been a fringe player under Carlo Ancelotti this season, a situation he has admitted that has "hurt" him.
Arsenal were linked with a move for the 28-year-old for most of last summer as he entered the final year of his contract.
However, Arsene Wenger's pursuit of a central midfielder may well be on the back burner now following the emergence of Francis Coquelin this campaign.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the midfielder also he would face stiff competition from Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas and again be limited to a bit-part role, something he is keen to leave behind.
