Transfer Window Watch: Sheridan, McPhail eye new horizons
FORMER Republic of Ireland and Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan is being chased by the Cypriot side, Apoel Nicosia.
Sheridan (24) is currently with Kilmarnock – having joined them on a two-year deal after leaving CSKA Sofia in September 2012.
Last season, he scored 10 goals in 29 appearances for Kilmarnock.
Sheridan has won three senior caps for Ireland after making 10 appearances for the U-21s.
Another former Ireland international midfielder Stephen McPhail has been targeted by Sheffield Wednesday.
McPhail is a free agent after being released by Premier League new boys Cardiff City. He was signed for Cardiff by Wednesday boss Dave Jones who is on the trail of the 33-year-old.
The agent of Atletico Mineiro midfielder Bernard claims Tottenham are the "only contenders" to sign the Brazilian at the moment.
Bernard is currently on international duty with Brazil at the Confederations Cup and has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund, but the 20-year-old's agent claims Spurs are the only team currently in the race.
