Tongue-lashing for 'kissing' footballers

Two Mexican footballers have come under fire for pretending to kiss each other during a goal celebration. The head of the Mexican Football Federation's disciplinary commission Alfonso Sabater said the image was not setting a "good example".

America players Christian Benitez and Matias Vuoso pantomimed a kiss after Benitez scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Puebla.

"This kind of image cannot be allowed before the public, fans, children," said Sabater. However, America president Ricardo Pelaez hit back, saying it was only a joke.

"It was nothing prepared, just spontaneous," he said. "I don't see it as something bad. They are great friends."

Paul Scholes and Gary Neville would certainly agree.
