Tevez due in court over speeding offence
MANCHESTER City and Argentina star Carlos Tevez is due in court today over a speeding offence.
The striker is accused of failing to disclose the identity of the driver of his £140,000 Bentley Continental car, which was allegedly clocked speeding at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Stretford, Manchester, on February 12, only hours after City had lost to local rivals United.
He has pleaded not guilty to the offence.
Tevez, of Prestbury, Cheshire, did not attend the last hearing at Oldham Magistrates’ Court last week, when the matter was adjourned until today.
Meanwhile, Manchester United's Darren Fletcher is due before courts next week to appeal a conviction for the same charge.
His Range Rover was snapped at 81mph on the M6.
