Stevie wonder helps Reds soar
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard struck a late penalty at the Kop end to lift his team to sixth in the Premier League and keep alive their hopes of Champions League qualification.
The winning penalty in the 3-2 victory came at the end of a pulsating game that had Anfield rocking and maintained Liverpool's recent run, which has been helped in no small part by the form of striker Luis Suarez.
The Premier League's leading scorer took his season's tally to 22 – 29 in all competitions – much to the delight of his manager.
"He is very happy among his mates here and you have seen today, it doesn't matter where he plays, he still created havoc," said Brendan Rodgers.
