St Patrick’s Athletic players are refusing to play in the glamour game of their season ... in a row over money.

The team have told management that they will not tog out for tonight's home second leg Europa league game against Karpaty Lviv amid a continuing row with the club over bonuses.

The players released a statement at lunchtime - through the Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland (PFAI) - in which they expressed regret that they "would not be participating in the fixture this evening".

"This is a unanimous decision of all the players and has not been reached lightly," the statement said.

The row is over unpaid club bonuses.
