Soft arm of the law wouldn't wash here

In a move that makes the GAA's disciplinary system look fairly ruthless, six members of the Pakistan Police football team, who were found guilty of assaulting a referee, have been banned for a grand total of six games each.

The Pakistan football federation awarded the cup game in Karachi to their opponents, KRL, and the six players were also fined $230 "in order to enforce strict discipline."

"I feel that a fine is a bit too much," said a sympathetic match commissioner Iqbal Baloch. "Since these players are from a humble backgrounds."

Sure, you'd probably see worse at your local GAA club ground.
