DERBY County have confirmed that ex-Ireland man Shay Given will remain with the Championship club and turn down a move to join Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

Lampard was confirmed as the new Chelsea boss on Thursday, his first task to take the side to Ireland next week for a pre-season training camp and friendly games against Bohemians (Wednesday) and St Patrick's Athletic (Saturday).

Jody Morris and Chris Jones moved from Derby to Stamford Bridge with Lampard and he had hoped to bring along Given as goalkeeper coach, but the Rams today confirmed on twitter that the Lifford man was staying and he would take part in pre-season in the USA alongside new coach Philip Cocu.
