Sergio Aguero's late winner for Manchester City against Bristol City on Tuesday was his 19th goal of the season and underlined his recent return to form after a relative indifferent spell.

The Argentinian has responded well to the arrival of Gabriel Jesus at City a year ago and the continuing rumours linking the club with Alexis Sanchez to keep on scoring.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at his season-by-season record at the Etihad Stadium.

2011-12 - Goals: 30

Crowned an impressive debut season in England with the injury-time winner that saw City snatch the Premier League title in dramatic fashion on the final day.

2012-13 - 17

An underwhelming season from City and Aguero, although he was troubled by knee and hamstring injuries.

2013-14 - 28

Hamstring and calf problems in the second half of the campaign did not prevent Aguero enjoying another prolific season statistically, figures that helped secure a second Premier League title.

2014-15 - 32

Signed a new five-year contract and the goals continued to flow, with his return including a brilliant hat-trick against Bayern Munich and four in a game against Tottenham.

2015-16 - 29

Passed 100 Premier League goals during a campaign in which he scored five in one game against Newcastle and a hat-trick at Chelsea.

2016-17 - 33

Faced increased competition for his place following the mid-season arrival of Jesus and missed seven games through suspension but produced his best return in a City shirt.

2017-18 - 19

Fought back to form after breaking a rib in a car crash and shrugged off recurring speculation over his future to become City's record goalscorer.

Total goals: 188
