DERBY County’s Conor Sammon has been named in Giovanni Trapattoni’s starting XI for tomorrow night’s clash with Austria at the Aviva.

The Dubliner, who is preferred to Wolves Kevin Doyle, replaces Robbie Keane who misses the game with a calf strain while the fit-again Glenn Whelan comes in for Paul Green in central midfield.

There is a doubt concerning the availability of left-back Marc Wilson who is suffering from a groin injury with Stephen Kelly on standby if the Stoke City man is forced to miss tomorrow night’s game.

Republic of Ireland team to face Austria: David Forde, Seamus Coleman, John OShea, Ciaran Clark, Marc Wilson (Stephen Kelly if Wilson injured), Jonathan Walters, Glenn Whelan, James McCarthy, James McClean, Conor Sammon, Shane Long.
