A former teammate of Robbie Keane has dismissed rumours linking Ireland's record goalscorer with a return to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Keane, who failed to find the net today in ATK's 1-0 defeat to Bengaluru FC, had been heavily linked with a move to runaway Championship leaders last week.

The Dubliner's former Wolves teammate and Sky Sports pundit Matt Murray claimed their was no substance to the speculation.

“Nothing in Keano story. I spoke to him," he wrote on Twitter.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo refused to be drawn on the rumours.

“We don't speak about any player until the player arrives. In January the amount of players' names that will come out will be immense so if I speak about each that comes out, I won't do anything else," he said.
