Robbie Keane has been ruled out of Ireland's upcoming friendlies with England and Georgia because of club commitments.

The friendlies fall outside the FIFA international window meaning Ireland's record goalscorer must stay at LA Galaxy who have made an indifferent start to the MLS season.

The 32-year-old striker will return to the Irish squad for the World Cup qualifier with the Faroe Islands on June 7 and the friendly with Spain in New York four days later.

Keane has only just returned to action for the Galaxy recently after an ankle injury and was playing in last weekend's 1-0 defeat to the New York Red Bulls
