DERBY COUNTY have entered the race for in-form Irish striker Conor Sammon after Kilmarnock rejected a bid from Huddersfield for the 24-year-old, writes Daniel McDonnell.
The ex-UCD and Derry front man turned down a move to Scunthorpe last week, and League One promotion chasers Huddersfield failed to meet his employers' valuation.
Derby -- who are struggling in the Championship -- are now waiting for a response to their enquiry.
Meanwhile, Celtic are contemplating stepping up their interest in Reading striker Noel Hunt, who has yet to sign a new contract at the Madejski Stadium. The younger brother of Wolves star Stephen would be tempted by a move to Parkhead.
