Ramos drops Real Cup clanger
Following Real Madrid's Copa del Rey victory over Barcelona in Valencia on Wednesday night, they immediately travelled back to the Spanish capital to celebrate with a victory parade on an open-top bus in front of 60,000 fans.
However, the end of Real's three-year honours drought got a little bit too much for defender Sergio Ramos when at 4.15am, while raising the Cup aloft on the top deck of the bus, the full-back lost his grip on the 15kg trophy and dropped it onto the road in front of the bus.
Panic ensued as the front wheel appeared to roll over and crush the trophy. A Real spokeswoman yesterday confirmed that the Cup "has to be fixed" and "is not in good shape". A replica has since been put on display at the Bernabeu.
