PSG midfielder and Gunners target Adrien Rabiot asks for loan move
Central midfielder indicates he wants a temporary move away from Paris
PSG's 20-year-old central midfielder Adrien Rabiot appears to tick all the boxes for Arsenal, and even better he said he wants a loan move in January.
Speaking to French website Telefoot, he said: “I’ve asked the president for a loan move in January if my time on the field is insufficient.
“It’s something that he can’t refuse me – I know he likes me very much. “When you train all week, you want to be on the field. Sometimes it’s not possible and it’s frustrating.
Arsene Wenger has reportedly been an admirer of his compatriot for some time, and with central midfielders Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin both out long-term, Rabiot could offer a temporary solution.
Arsenal though will face competition from north London rivals Tottenham, who are also interested in the player, according to London 24.
Another central midfield option to Wenger is Southampton's Victor Wanyama, and former winger Robert Pires has implored Arsenal to sign the Kenyan.
Pires, speaking to journalists in Nairobi, said: “I know Wanyama.
“He is a very good ambassador of Kenyan football and has done well in Southampton but I hope he signs for Arsenal in the future. He has the speed, skill and physique.
“However, I think he needs to score more goals because then he will be world-class material.”
And now, the rumour that just will not go away: Spanish publication Fichajes is saying that Real Madrid are tiring of Karim Benzema's off-field scandals.
As a consequence, they are considering selling the French striker, and Arsenal are apparently at the front of the queue to sign him.
It's fair to say after a summer of rumours about Benzema that led to absolutely nothing, we're a little sceptical about this one.
