Paris-Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier was arrested today and placed in custody following an alleged altercation with police in Paris.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international was arrested after the incident in the Champs Elysees area in the early hours of Monday as Aurier left a nightclub.

He was taken into custody for kicking and insulting an officer, according to AFP.

His club have declined to comment until they have further details.

Coach Laurent Blanc briefly suspended Aurier in mid-February after the defender posted a video online in which he insulted Blanc and fellow PSG players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Angel di Maria.
