Preston boss Alex Neil hails 'absolute revelation' Seanie Maguire
Preston manager Alex Neill believes Republic of Ireland striker Seanie Maguire will benefit from a break from training as he recovers from a slight hamstring injury.
Maguire was not able to play for Preston last weekend in their 3-2 defeat to Wolves but it’s hoped he will be fit to feature at home to Brentford on Saturday, a game with added interest as Danish internationals Andreas Bjelland and Henrik Dalsgaard play for the Bees.
The 23-year-old has been on the go since the beginning of the Airtricity League season with Cork City and Neill believes the small break has come at the right time for Maguire.
“The number of games he’s played is something I’ve discussed with Sean and it’s something we’re aware of," Neill told a Preston fans forum this evening.
“I think he will benefit from this niggle which gives him time not training and a chance to recover.”
Maguire has started 10 games since his move to Deepdale, scoring three goals, and Neill has heaped praise on his new signing.
“I think Sean has been an absolute revelation for us.”
