The bulldozers have wasted little time in moving in to White Hart Lane, as demolition of Tottenham’s 118-year-old stadium began on Monday morning.

After Spurs beat Manchester United in their final game at the stadium on Sunday, workers wasted little time in beginning to to dismantle the venue to make way for the club’s new home.

Tottenham officials hope to tear down their old home within three months, as they prepare to complete the huge project to build a 61,559-seater venue that is due to be ready for the start of the 2018/19 season.

Spurs will play all their home matches at Wembley Stadium next season, with the revenue stream set to be generated by their new home offering the potential for the club to start competing with some of the Premier League’s top clubs in the battle for star talent.
