Manchester United stars joined fans in ecstatic celebrations in the Anfield stands after Manchester United beat Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Marcos Rojo all opted to watch Manchester United's game with Liverpool from the stands with their fans, rather than enjoy the luxury of the Anfield hospitality area.

The three players posed for photos amongst Manchester United supporters in the Anfield Road stand as they watched their side defeat Liverpool.

Phil Jones was ruled out of the game with an ankle injury, but seemed to be showing no signs of the knock as he jumped up and down with jubilant fans in the Liverpool away end.

Argentinian defender, Marcos Rojo, was pictured celebrating with nearby supporters when Wayne Rooney's volley gave United an unlikely lead at Anfield.

Phil Jones is yet to play for Louis van Gaal's side since picking up an ankle injury in United's 2-1 victory over Swansea.

Wayne Rooney's 178th goal for Manchester United now means he is the highest Premier League goalscorer for any one club.

The goal meant that the England captain has now scored in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since September 2013.
