Stoke City are expecting a formal bid from Chelsea for Asmir Begovic and will ask them to include Victor Moses in any deal.
Chelsea are poised to sell Petr Cech to Arsenal this week and Begovic has emerged as a potential replacement. Begovic will cost around £8 million as he has only one year left on his contract, though Chelsea must convince the Bosnian that he will play enough games as understudy to Thibaut Courtois.
Stoke have identified Moses as a priority signing this summer and hope to agree a deal that will guarantee them cash plus the Chelsea winger in return for Begovic.
Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah is due to tell Fiorentina today whether he will stay with them for another season. He spent the second half of last season there on and the Italians have told Chelsea they wish to take up the £700,000 option to keep him for the coming campaign. Midfielder John Obi Mikel is understood to be on the verge of leaving Chelsea for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
Elsewhere, Andy Carroll has been reassured that he has an important role to play under the new West Ham United manager, Slaven Bilic.
West Ham have no plans to offload Carroll, despite tentative interest from his former club Newcastle United, as Bilic plans to make the striker an integral part of his squad.(© Daily Telegraph, London)
