Spurs to show Redknapp door
Harry Redknapp was last night negotiating his imminent departure from Tottenham Hotspur. The 65-year-old met with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy after talks over a new contract broke down.
It's understood that Redknapp is prepared to leave Spurs if agreement over the final year of his £3m-a-season contract can be reached -- otherwise he will attempt to see out the deal.
Redknapp does not want to formally resign as Spurs manager but has now accepted that his four years at the club are drawing to an abrupt close, despite the success he has brought.
Spurs are likely to turn to David Moyes, with Everton braced for an approach -- even if the Toffees remain confident that their manager might resist an offer.
However, Moyes has just one year left on his contract, also thought to be worth around £3m per year.
Two-year deal for Di Matteo
Roberto Di Matteo has signed a two-year contract to be full-time manager of Chelsea. The deal was announced by Chelsea yesterday just three weeks after the Italian guided the Blues to their first Champions League title.
Di Matteo replaced Andre Villas-Boas as interim manager for the final 11 weeks of the season. He led the club to the FA Cup and the penalty shoot-out win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
