Richard Dunne in line for surprise QPR comeback
RICHARD DUNNE has given QPR a boost in their battle against relegation after putting himself in line for a return to first-team action in the next three weeks.
Dunne was expected to miss the remainder of the campaign after sustaining media ligament damage in February which was followed by the prognosis that he would be absent for three months.
That placed a question mark over the veteran's Premier League future but his new boss Chris Ramsey has confirmed that the 35-year-old is almost ready for a comeback, along with Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer.
"Leroy Fer and Richard Dunne have worked extremely hard," he said. "We are hoping that in the next two to three weeks one of them, or maybe both of them, are back for consideration."
QPR sit 19th in the Premier League table, four points from safety with eight games remaining. Dunne had impressed before his setback.
