In the Championship last year, Blackpool won only six of their 23 away games as they edged into the play-offs, which makes their record of five wins out of 12 in the Premier League all the more remarkable.
Last week, they achieved a 'double' over Liverpool as they added a 2-1 victory at Bloomfield Road to the same scoreline at Anfield and, with Wigan, Newcastle, Stoke and Sunderland still to travel to Blackpool, they will have four more chances to complete Premier League doubles.
And the Tangerines have been double specialists under Ian Holloway -- all of the six teams they beat on their travels in the Championship were also defeated at Bloomfield Road. Last season, Blackpool did the double over another team with more than one European Cup to their name in Nottingham Forest -- and they beat them twice in the play-off semi-finals as well. Their five other doubles came against Middlesbrough, Plymouth, Scunthorpe, Peterborough and Derby.
Liverpool might not be in the best of company, judging by that list but, given the surprising quality that Blackpool have produced this season, they are unlikely to be the last team in double trouble.
