Question nobody asked - How do Chelsea compare before and after Ray Wilkins?
Chelsea's poor form after the sacking of Ray Wilkins may just be a coincidence, although the numbers since 'Butch' left Stamford Bridge are startling. Tonight Chelsea go into their 11th game since his departure, sitting in fifth place, 10 points behind leaders Manchester United.
On the day he left, however, Chelsea led the league by four points from United and were nine points clear of Tottenham, who they are now level with in the battle for fourth. In the 10 games since he left, the Blues have played five away games, winning none, drawing two and losing three, meaning they have dropped 13 of 15 points on offer.
Their home form is a little better with two wins, two draws and a 3-0 defeat to Sunderland which started the malaise. In all, Carlo Ancelotti's team have dropped 20 points from 10 games since Wilkins was sacked.
