Irish veteran Ian Harte has been released by Bournemouth after their promotion to the Premier League.

The news is not surprising considering that the 37-year-old former international only made nine appearances for Eddie Howe's side this term, with his last outing coming in their FA Cup exit to Aston Villa in January.

Harte joined Bournemouth in the summer of 2013 and made 35 appearances during his time with the club.

Meanwhile, the failure of Wolves to make the Championship play-offs means that Kevin Doyle will be able to make his debut for Colorado Rapids this month.

Doyle was originally set to join up with the MLS side in July when his Wolves contract expired but he has agreed a severance that will allow him to move to the USA before their primary transfer window closes on May 12.

"We always thought this might be a possibility if Wolves did not achieve their target of promotion," said Paul Bravo, Colorado's technical director.
