David Meyler suffered a nasty eye injury during Hull's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last night at the KC Stadium and it hasn't improved much.
Alexis Sanchez scored twice in the first half, either side of Aaron Ramsey's deflected strike, to leave Arsenal 3-0 up and in full control at the break.
Bruce's response was to send on Irish midfielder David Meyler for the ineffective Jake Livermore and the Tigers were immediately a tougher proposition.
It was Meyler who played a significant part as Hull pulled one back in the 56th minute. He clattered into Francis Coquelin and while Arsenal protested Ahmed Elmohamady played in a super cross that Quinn met with a stooping header than bounced past Ospina.
Meyler did receive a boot to the head as he stooped to header a ball to a team mate.
He was left with a nasty gash over his right eye and received lengthy treatment.
