New Ireland cap Michael Obafemi handed first Premier League start against Man United

The blossoming career of Michael Obafemi will take another leap forward today with the news the that 18-year-old will make his first Premier League start for Southampton against Man United.

Obafemi made his international debut for Ireland against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League earlier this month, with the emergence of the striker one of the few bright spots for the Boys in Green over the last few months.

Obafemi has previously made two Premier League appearances off the bench for Mark Hughes' side, but will be involved from the start against Man United at St Mary's this evening. The Irish teenager isn't the only new face in the Southampton team, with Yan Valery coming into the defence to make his senior debut.
