McCann's injury hell over

BURNLEY'S luckless Irish midfielder Chris McCann has returned to full training after a miserable 18 months of injury hell.

The highly rated Dubliner was struck down early into his employers' Premier League campaign and made an aborted attempt at a comeback midway through that season which ultimately resulted in a further protracted spell on the sidelines.

Persistent difficulties with his knee were the cause of the lay-off and, after just 103 minutes of action since September 2009, the Finglas lad is delighted to be back in the picture -- although there is lingering regret that he missed out on the majority of their top-flight adventure.

"It feels amazing to be back," said McCann. "I was very excited because it feels like it's been so long.

"It will take me a while to get going again and I'll be building it up every day now and doing as much as I possibly can to get back.

"I'd like to get at least 10 days under my belt before I can think about games, but hopefully I can get some action again before long."
