Wayne Rooney helps Manchester United unveil their new home kit for the 2017/18 season
Manchester United have unveiled their new home kit for the upcoming 2017/18 season.
The strip, which is the third to be designed by adidas, was modelled by a number of Manchester United players, including Wayne Rooney, whose future at the club remains up in the air.
Manchester United's new centre back Victor Lindelof, who joined the club in a £31m move from Benfica earlier this summer, also featured in the kit launch alongside Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata.
Luke Shaw also features in promotional photos for the new kit having endured a difficult first season under Jose Mourinho.
While fans will be able to purchase the new shirt from today, supporters will have to wait until Manchester United's pre-season friendly against LA Galaxy on July 15 to see the kit being worn in anger.
A statement accompanying the release of the shirt read: "The latest home shirt features a minimalist, sophisticated design which pays homage to some of the classic kits from the past, at the same time as being at the forefront of technical sportswear design with technical, breathable fabrics and mesh engineering.
"The kit features an all-new button-up collar offering an elegant and contemporary design, the adidas three stripes in white on the shoulders and red, white and black sleeves to represent the colours of the flags seen on matchdays at Old Trafford."
