Not 24 hours after publicly urging Anthony Martial to seize his chances with Manchester United with greater vigour, Jose Mourinho has omitted the French attacker for his side's EFL Cup semi-final second leg clash away to Hull.

Martial, who didn't make the bench for United's 1-1 draw with Stoke over the weekend, has been left out entirely again as the Old Trafford side look to close out the 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Instead, Mourinho has selected Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford to flank Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Michael Carrick returning to captain the side in midfield alongside Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba.

Record goal-scorer Wayne Rooney is on a strong bench with Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Kick off is at 7 45.
