Manchester United poised to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund
Manchester United are poised to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan this summer for £20m, according to The Metro.
Louis van Gaal wants to strengthen his central midfield options, and has had his scouts watch the energetic German for some time.
Arsenal are also interested in the player, and reportedly attempted to sign him in January.
The United heirachy are hoping that the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp will make it easier to strike a deal for the 24-year-old.
Elsewhere, the club's pursuit of Southampton defender Nathaniel Cyne is contingent on striker Javier Hernandez moving the other way, reports The Daily Star.
The Telegraph reports that PSV winger Memphis Depay could be moving to Old Trafford at the end of the season, after the club's technical director admitted the winger is wanted by many 'big clubs'.
Technical director Marcel Brands said: "There is serious interest [in Depay] from big clubs.
'If it comes to a deal, he must make the choice. Then it's up to us to come out with such a club.'
United are reportedly weighing up a £25m bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, with Van Gaal impressed by the Belgian in United's recent win against Villa at old Trafford.
Radamel Falcao could join Liverpool at the end of the season, as United are unlikely to make his loan deal permanent.
